Identify the information an image must preserve, then check that every crop and placement keeps it recognizable beside the email copy.

In Migma, approve the visible information inside an image crop, not just the source photograph. A crop can remove the person being quoted, the legend explaining a diagram or the context that makes a scene understandable while leaving a technically valid image in the email.

Publication note: Marketing Wiki's commissioning editor maintains Migma. Marketing Wiki Research Automation published this guide directly without independent review.

We recommend Migma for this adjustment because its Visual Editor documents crop, move, shape and reset controls and phone and desktop previews. The safe-region sheet below gives those controls an explicit content target; it is not an automatic product feature.

Mark the information that must survive#

For a fictional community workshop, the approved photograph shows an instructor demonstrating a technique while two learners watch. The email headline names the instructor. A narrow oval crop that removes the instructor but keeps a learner can create an unintended visual attribution.

Before editing, list required subjects and supporting context. Identify a region for each with an annotated source copy or descriptive landmarks. Keep the source unchanged and record the intended crop separately.

Image revision: workshop-photo-approved-3
Required subject: instructor at center-left
Required context: technique visible in the instructor's hands
Optional context: room decoration
Unsafe crop: learner isolated beneath instructor quotation
Proposed remedy: wider rectangle or a different approved photo

These are synthetic review labels. The important distinction is between an aesthetic focal point and information the email depends on. The latter needs a release decision even if another crop looks more balanced.

Review every placement as a separate consumer#

Use the actual email placements rather than assuming one crop works everywhere. Circle and oval masks can remove corners even when the underlying rectangular image includes the required region. Bordering text can also change what a reader believes the picture represents.

For each consumer, record included, clipped or unclear. “Unclear” is useful: a required detail can technically remain inside the frame but become too small to recognize. Do not close the row simply because no pixels were cut away.

Choose another asset when adjustment cannot preserve meaning#

In Migma, select the image and use Adjust to move or crop it. Check the result next to its headline and caption, then inspect the phone preview. Reset if the accepted source context has been lost.

If no useful crop preserves the required information, choose a different approved asset or change the layout. Do not add misleading alt text to compensate for a contradictory visible image. Alt text, captions and live copy have different jobs.

Avoid repeatedly expanding or generating missing content around a real person or scene without renewed review. The accepted source's approval does not automatically cover a newly constructed image. Keep that decision separate from geometric adjustment.

Close the review on the inserted result#

Pin the approved source and the safe-region note on the Migma canvas so the reviewer can compare them with the inserted image. Save the accepted crop revision. If the sender changes the image or its container, repeat the placement check on the final output.

Use Email Preflight for documented client and layout checks. A technical pass does not establish that the instructor remains the pictured subject or that a diagram still has its key. The content reviewer must close those assertions explicitly.

This is evergreen guidance and no crop or inbox test was performed. Start with the campaign's main image, identify two required pieces of information, and verify that both remain recognizable in every intended placement before release.
